SOS NHS Day of Action: More resources and info

Dear supporter We've called a National Day of Action for Saturday 26 February to make the three following demands of the Government:  1 - Approve emergency funding of £20 billion to save lives this winter 2 - Invest in a fully publicly owned NHS & guarantee free healthcare for future generations 3 - Pay staff properly: without fair pay, staffing shortages will cost lives As part of this campaign we are maintaining our long-standing opposition to the Health and Care Bill which we believe is the wrong bill at the wrong time. We'll be standing alongside NHS staff from right across the profession, those in-house and out-sourced and amplifying their call for pay justice. We'll be fighting to end the emergency in social care. We'll be standing by patients for a better, safer NHS and we'll be demanding the Government intervenes now to save lives this winter.  We're calling on all local activists, supporters, local group campaigners and more to get involved with the day of action. Social Care Emergency Meeting Tonight

Read: Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre sell-off ‘short-sighted’

Keep Our NHS Public campaigners in Oxfordshire have condemned plans announced last November to privatise the Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (VMIC) as “monumentally short-sighted”. The government is now arguing that this facility no longer needs to be government owned after witnessing the large-scale production of successful vaccines by large private companies. In this continuing ‘age of austerity’, ministers are seeking to recover some of the millions previously invested by selling off the facility. The issue here is that the UK (as a smaller country) will inevitably lose out in future negotiations. READ MORE
